Twitter is SUPER excited that Beyoncé had her babies

The news of the Carter twins birth has not been made official yet by Beyonce or Jay Z but with continued reports of family visits to the hospital and Mathew Knowles social media posts, it is more than likely that she has had the babies. And much like us, Twitter is super excited.

Sources close to the couple said: "The twins were born Monday in a Los Angeles hospital".

On Saturday an unidentified female was pictured delivering a pink and blue balloon and floral gift with one reading: "It's a boy" and the other reading: "It's a girl.' The accompanying envelope had: 'To B & J" on the front. A representative for Beyonce did not respond immediately to a request for comment.

Queen Bey announced her pregnancy in February on Instagram. They'll no doubt share the news in spectacular fashion soon (you remember her viral pregnancy announcement, right?), but in the meantime, we can tell you what sources are saying about Blue Ivy's two new siblings.

Reports she had become a mum began swirling this week when rapper Jay Z missed his Songwriters Hall of Fame induction on Thursday night. "We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two and we thank you for all your well wishes", she wrote, signing off with Jay Z.

Obama hailed the hip-hop mogul - who campaigned actively with Beyonce for the first African American president - as a kindred spirit at the event in a surprise appearance by video.

He said: "Jay Z and I are also fools to our daughters".

There was no immediate word on the gender of the babies or their names. But Beyonce made clear in the final tracks of the album and in music videos featuring Jay-Z that she had chose to stay in the relationship.

As an expectant mother, Beyonce made a New Age celebration of women at the Grammy Awards earlier this year - putting on an extravagant, abstract performance while proudly displaying her baby bump cloaked in a flowing gold gown.
