Florentino Perez to remain as Real Madrid president until 2021

Florentino Perez's first task after being re-elected as Real Madrid president on Monday will be to appease superstar Cristiano Ronaldo amid speculation that the four-time world player of the year wants to leave.

And according to Spanish sports daily Marca, Ronaldo has told his teammates: "I'm leaving Real".

Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris St Germain are all circling in the hope that they could snap him up.

Manchester United reportedly have reservations about making a move for Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. "We tried for him to come, but we saw at one point that it was not possible and we withdrew (from the deal)", Perez told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.

The 70-year-old Perez, who ran unopposed, was reelected for a fifth four-year mandate at the Spanish powerhouse.

The former United star has a release clause of one billion euros ($1.12 billion) written into his Real Madrid contract, having signed a five-year deal in November 2016.

Event for the announcement of Florentino Pérez as president of Real Madrid C.F. will take place in the presidential box at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium at 19:30CET.

Upon hearing the news, the Real boss reportedly immediately phoned his player, who is now with Portugal at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russian Federation, to discover the real reasons behind his decision to make his intentions public. "The truth is that we have great goalkeepers".

Manchester United are "wary" of being drawn into a transfer saga surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to Kaveh Solhekol.

Madrid's state prosecutor has alleged Ronaldo used an offshore company to hide a portion of his income from the tax office.

The future of the Portugal global remains unclear after recent reports have claimed that he wants to leave the La Liga and Champions League winners.

"To this day, nobody has offered us anything for any player and we have not made any offer".

"Wish and your dreams will come true", might work in a flawless world, but Ronaldo will know just because he wants to go back to Manchester United, his former club, it doesn't mean he will be able to.
