Foo Fighters Announce New Album And Music Festival

We've already heard a handful of new Foo Fighters songs over the past few weeks as the group has rolled out fresh tunes at shows, including "Run", "La Dee Da" and "The Sky is a Neighborhood". Power-pop producer Greg Kurstin (known for his work with a slew of stars like Adele, Pink, and Tegan and Sara) is helming the record.

Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl started Foo Fighters in 1994 as a one-man project following Kurt Cobain's death and Nirvana's subsequent breakup.

The band's ninth studio album was recorded at Hollywood's prestigious EastWest studios to house Foo Fighters' "noise and Greg's big brain and all of his sophisticated arrangements and composition". He recruited Kurstin because he had never made a heavy rock record before and because the Foo Fighters had never worked with a pop producer.

Live Nation announced Tuesday morning that the rock band's 2017 "Concrete and Gold" tour will make stops at Greensboro Coliseum on October 15 and at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C., on October 17.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Thursday, June 29 at 10:00 AM and will be available at ticketmaster.com, the Lexington Medical Center Box Office inside Colonial Life Arena, by phone 800-745-3000, livenation.com or via the Live Nation app.

As for Cal Jam 17, the Foo Fighters will headline the massive one-day festival at Glen Helen Regional Park, while the lineup also features Queens of the Stone Age, Cage the Elephant, Liam Gallagher, the Kills, Royal Blood, Japandroids, Wolf Alice and Bob Mould.
