McGregor 100 per cent positive that he will beat Mayweather

De La Hoya had previously talked trash about the fight, writing an open letter to fans telling them not to buy it and that it could possibly destroy the sport of boxing's reputation.

We see McGregor aiming for the knockout early, before Mayweather gets in his bag and figures out the UFC superstar, picking him apart and cruising to his 50th victory. Mayweather is a -1,100 favorite at the Westgate SuperBook, with McGregor paying back +700.

Stephen Espinoza, Head of Showtime Sports, who are handling the pay-per-view for the upcoming event, explained the justification of the high prices.

Floyd "Money" Mayweather is undoubtedly one of the greatest boxers of all time. Over a year and a half ago, McGregor did the impossible and knocked-out the pound-for-pound #1 fighter in the UFC, Jose Aldo, in just a matter of 13 seconds to claim the Featherweight Championship.

Either way, Mayweather-McGregor is coming, whether you like it or not, and it will dominate most of the chatter across both boxing and MMA over the coming couple of months. It will be aired via pay-per-view on Showtine. "Conor likes money, man - Conor would depart with a lot of money if that ever happened", UFC President Dana White said.

The undercard of Mayweather-McGregor will be a purely boxing event, with no UFC involvement.

McGregor does have no professional boxing experience to speak of, which is a big concern of Butterbean's in getting the fight approved.

McGregor and Mayweather are set to compete inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 26. "I love what McGregor does, and did, to get this fight", she said.

"One thing I've been impressed with when I've been watching Conor McGregor is his hand game".

If enough time has passed to make people forget that they shelled out almost $100 for a total dud back then, another spectacularly high number is feasible. Not saying Mayweather is going to win.

The American will also be aware that a win would take him ahead of the legendary Rocky Marciano, who also retired with a 49-0 record.
