Ronaldo summoned for July 31 tax hearing

"We haven't spoken to De Gea", Perez told Spanish radio station Onda Cero. This is very odd and in the next few days I'll talk to him.

Even so, Perez said he was convinced Ronaldo would stay and affirmed that his Real contract was protected by a one billion euro release clause.

Reigning Ballon d'Or and Best FIFA Men's Player award victor Ronaldo has been linked with a return to Manchester United having been "outraged" by what he feels is unfair treatment by Spanish tax authorities, making him determined to leave the country.

"Normally we don't comment on rumours, but in this case, we would like to make our position on Cristiano Ronaldo absolutely clear: This rumour is completely unfounded and must be consigned to the realms of fantasy".

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, accused of evading €14.7 million (RM70.3 million) in tax, has been summoned to appear before a judge in Spain, judicial sources told AFP today.

Ronaldo was a world-record signing of intent from United after Perez returned as president eight years ago, the forward being part of a £225million summer spending spree that also saw the likes of Kaka, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso move to Real.

Paul Pogba is now the most expensive player on the globe after United brought him back from Juventus last summer and Jose Mourinho's men would likely have to break the bank again to re-sign the Portuguese.

The future of all-time top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo and fellow forwards Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez has, however, been thrown into doubt, although Perez said Real has not started conducting their business yet. We've not received any offer for Cristiano. "The truth is we have great goalkeepers".
