CSK, Royals to return for IPL season 11

After leading CSK for nearly 8 years, Dhoni represented Rising Pune Supergiant that first played and lost their maiden IPL final in 2017 by only 1 run against Mumbai Indians.

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals have completed their suspensions of two years from the IPL on Friday and were "welcomed back" by the BCCI.

Chennai Super Kings fans can rejoice since their favourite team is all set to make a comeback in the coming edition of IPL. In an interview to Times Of India, K George John, CSKCL told "If we are given an option of retaining a player, it will definitely be Dhoni".

"In an effort to engage with fans, the CSK management started their promotional campaign from today with a couple of social media activities aimed at evoking memories of MS Dhoni & Co in the colours of CSK over the past decade", he added.

IPL chairman, Rajeev Shukla said it is his privilege to welcome back the franchisees into the 11th edition of the IPL. I hope they bring back the intensity and the flair that they are reputed for and continue to add enormous value to brand VIVO IPL.

A Supreme Court appointed panel had barred Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals from the Twenty20 competition in 2015, saying such a punishment was needed to protect the integrity of the game.

CSK have been one of the most consistent teams in IPL history, winning the competition in 2010 and 2011 and ending up runners-up in 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2015. "I wish them, all the very best", BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary said.

"We would definitely like to get back a few old guys". The BCCI though, has been keen on continuing with the current eight-team arrangement. One of the fans, H Saranavan said The entire CSK family is thrilled, all the had been CSK fans had been eagerly waiting for this day since past two years.
