New Zealand win toss, elect to field against India

India might boast of the world's leading ODI wicket-taker and run-scorer in their ranks, but as a unit they are struggling to function collectively.

Gayakwad then dealt two more quick blows, removing Sophie Devine (7) and Hannah Rowe (4) as New Zealand were looking down the barrel at 62/7 in 21.5 overs.

India reached the World Cup final for the first time in 2005 under her leadership. In their last match at Bristol, Australia defeated them by eight wickets, despite a gritty century by Punam Raut and a record-breaking 69 from skipper Mithali Raj.

Indian captain Mithali Raj created a world record by becoming the first player to cross 6,000 runs in the history of women's ODI, during the ICC World Cup match against Australia. On the other hand, New Zealand's first visit to Derby was a washout and the second resulted in a heavy 75-run loss to England recently, both of which directly propelled them into this do-or-die situation.

Raj with almost 8,400 runs in the worldwide cricket has become India's highest female run scorer in all the three formats. She has not only passed the highest score 5992 of Charlotte Edwards but has also become the first women to cross 6000 runs in women cricket.

When is the ICC Women's World Cup match between India vs New Zealand?

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl. In 1999, she burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old with a hundred on debut against Ireland at Milton Keynes, an innings that still makes her the youngest ever ODI centurion.

"I think this whole tournament we've seen every game as a must-win and we've played like that", she said after the England defeat. However, the highlight of the virtual knock-out match was Mithali's sixth ton in her 184th match and her 109 came from 123 balls and had 11 fours in it.

While the Indian spinners were brilliant, the White Ferns batters made them look more lethal than they were. It was a good batting track but we wanted to keep them under 250.
