No Arsenal deal with Alexis Sanchez, says Arsene Wenger

Alexis Sanchez has admitted for the first time that he wants to leave Arsenal in this summer's transfer window as he wants to play in the Champions League.

Wenger, in Australia for Arsenal's pre-season tour which continues against Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday, told reporters: "There is not a lot to resolve at the moment with the player".

The Chilean forward has entered the final year of his contract with the club and is yet to agree to a new deal, which has put his future in doubt with a number of clubs showing interest in signing him.

The Chile worldwide continues to be heavily linked with Manchester City and Wenger insists speculation he has agreed a new contract to stay at the Emirates Stadium is inaccurate.

Sanchez's Arsenal contract has one year left to run and the player is yet to sign their offer of new terms worth £300,000-a-week.

Set to return to parent club Arsenal, England worldwide Wilshere - who has been hampered by injuries in recent years - has been linked with a move to Serie A outfit Sampdoria. "My thoughts are always positive".

Reflecting on the rumours, though, Wenger said, as reported by the Gunners' official website: "Yes, 100% I expect him to stay".

Equally, Wenger believes that midfielder Jack Wilshere will stay at Arsenal after the England worldwide spent last season on loan at Bournemouth.

Arsene Wenger is confident Alexis Sanchez will stay at Arsenal after a "positive" conversation with the star.

"But once he is ready, when he comes back, he will not be far from with the team".
