Tiemoue Bakayoko to complete Chelsea move today after resolving late problems

If the deal goes through, Bakayoko will join veteran Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero and German defender Antonio Ruediger as new Chelsea recruits.

As a result, the Blues have the front seat in the pursuit, and they have now finalised a £40m fee with Monaco to secure the midfield enforcer, RMC Sport reveals.

It's certainly not something that's beneath Bakayoko as just yesterday morning he geo-tagged one of his Tweets to Manchester, trying to convey the fact he was there instead of in London. Both Tweets have since been deleted.

That post was soon deleted, leading to a huge sigh relief from the Stamford Bridge faithful.

The midfielder is now recovering from routine keyhole surgery, which he underwent last month to address a niggling problem.

This led to an outburst of pleas from Chelsea fans for Bakayoko to "please stop trolling", with some noticing he'd also followed Manchester United on Instagram, as well as Red Devils stars Marcus Rashford and Eric Bailly.

It looks Nemanja Matic could finally be set to move to Manchester United.

Inter Milan have also shown interest in the Serbia global but will struggle to match his salary and contract wishes. Playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, another player discarded cheaply by Mourinho, subsequently blossomed at Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg who made a handsome profit on the £18 million paid for the player in January 2014 when selling him to Manchester City for £55 million just 18 months later. The England Under-21 global, frustrated by his lack of first team opportunities, has joined Watford for a fee believed to be around £5m, despite being offered a new contract by the Blues.

The Frenchman is expected to undergo his medical in west London tomorrow ahead of his move from the Ligue 1 champions and his arrival is going to see Matic fall further down the pecking order.

The Serbia midfielder is determined to join United, Inter Milan or Juventus, having concluded that he has no future at Chelsea following the £39.8 million acquisition of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco, which is due to be completed over the weekend.

Lukaku isn't the only example of Chelsea shooting themselves in the foot when selling young players.

However, it seems the 22-year-old has chosen the Blues over United.

Chelsea had earlier announced the signing of German youngster Antonio Rudiger from Roma.

The France global is in London to undergo a medical and finalise his transfer to the Premier League champions.
