"The only time I spoke about Russian Federation with Donald Trump was in passing, during a dinner conversation in 2013, long before he made a decision to run for President", Mr Caputo said in his written statement.

Rinat Akhmetshin confirmed his involvement to The Associated Press in a Friday interview. His comments have added a new outline of the Trump teams growing explanations about the June 2016 controversial meeting, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The meeting is now considered as part of efforts by Russian Federation to collude with the Trump campaign in an effort to change the outcome of the November 8 presidential election; accusations that Russian Federation has firmly denied. He's a well-known Washington presence, lobbying for Russian interests trying to undermine the allegations of a lawyer who died in a Russian prison and is the namesake of a USA sanctions law. He said he was drafted into the Soviet army and served from 1986 to 1988 but was not trained in spy tradecraft.

The development follows several days of shifting statements from President Donald Trump, Trump Jr., and various corners of the White House in which the administration sought to play down Veselnitskaya's meeting with the president's eldest son, Kushner, and Manafort, alleging that Veselnitskaya was not involved with the Russian government. "He told me specifically he was not working for the Russian government, and in fact laughed when I asked him that question". Goldstone posted a Facebook status on June 9, 2016, the day of the meeting, checking in to Trump Tower with the comment "preparing for meeting". Trump Jr. admitted to the meeting and said the trio had talked about adoption, but on Sunday, the Times came out with another report revealing that Trump Jr. had only attended because the attorney had vowed to share dirt on Hillary Clinton.

NBC News first reported Mr. Akhmetshin's role in the meeting, but did not identify him.

By Friday, news outlets were reporting there were eight people, Trump Jr. included, who went to the meeting. He said he showed up in jeans and a T-shirt.

"I'm happy to participate in any investigation", Caputo said.

"This could be a good issue to expose how the accepting bad money", The AP quoted Akhmetshin recalling her saying.

The meeting appears to be the most tangible evidence of a connection between Trump's election campaign and Russian Federation, a subject that has prompted investigations by congressional committees and a federal special counsel. "But you don't need a lawyer to see that the Trump defense - collusion as a desperate Democratic fiction created to explain away a lost election - is now officially dead".

"They couldn't wait for the meeting to end", he said. When asked if he thought Akhmetshin was connected to the Russian security services, Rohrabacher said: "I would certainly not rule that out". He said he thinks she left the materials with the Trump associates.

When did our lawmakers become this indifferent to attempts by a foreign government clearly in opposition to our national interests to influence our election?

Same can be said for Jared Kushner, the son-in-law who's now a senior adviser and was also in the meeting. Just wanted to poke my head in and say I'm cool with Putin paying Trump so long as I get to be the big tax-cutting boy.
