Kingdom Hearts III to debut in 2018 with Pixar characters

Today Square Enix and Disney unveiled a new Kingdom Hearts III trailer that shines a spotlight on the first world in the Kingdom Hearts series to be based on a Disney Pixar film, "Toy Story". Check out the lengthy gameplay trailer below.

Kingdom Hearts III will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One upon release. The new title, which is a collaboration of Disney Interactive and Square Enix, will be the latest installment to a franchise that began back in 2002.

We see Kingdom Hearts hero Sora taking on countless Heartless before he, Goofy and Donald arrive in the Toy Story universe. It is unknown if the game will feature other Pixar favorites, but Toy Story is an excellent addition either way.

Kingdom Hearts creator and video game legend Tetsuya Nomura announced the world on stage, revealing, 'I've always hoped that Toy Story would be part of the Kingdom Hearts series. "I'm sure fans have been anticipating the inclusion of this world for many years". Previous looks had revealed Tangled, Big Hero 6, and Hercules as some of the Disney domains you'd visit over the course of the story. We want variety in our new Kingdom Hearts, so we don't want too many of one sort of world, that would look the same.
