What The Incredibles 2 Will Be About

In addition to sharing new information about The Incredibles 2, it was announced that Dan Scanlon, the director of Monsters University, would be helming an untitled Pixar film.

Fandango managing editor Erik Davis tweeted that "They just showed a lineup if like 25 new superheroes for The Incredibles 2".

And best of all, Brad Bird will return to voice the iconic, legendary Edna Mode. Though the audience knows Jack-Jack has powers (because of the ending of the first film, and a subsequent short film), his family does not and Bird explained that's a running joke in the film.

I love that they would use a paper doll character. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) and Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) and their children Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dashiell (Spencer Fox) and baby Jack Jack. Lasseter said he's been waiting for this movie longer than the D23 expo has been going on (the first event was in 2009) and is excited that they can make their old dream a reality. The core cast hit the stage, with first-timer Huck Milner joining the crew as the new voice of Dash. Jack Jack tries to confront the raccoon through the glass, but his powers allow him to crawl through it. "Incredibles 2" will premiere June 15, 2018. However, Elastigirl will take center stage this time, as Bob has to stay home for reasons that were not specified.

Following the recent release of Cars 3, attendees at the panel were shown a glimpse of the next film to be set in the Cars/Planes universe, this one looking to the heavens rather than merely earth or sky.

The pavilion also features an area for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War but most of the items are now under wraps, waiting to be uncovered following announcements on Saturday morning's highly-anticipated Walt Disney Studios Live Action Films presentation in Hall D23. At the panel, audiences were shown Bratt's screen test and two extended clips, including one in which Miguel crosses over from the world of the living to the world of the dead.

Josh Cooley is stepping up as the sole director of "Toy Story 4". Scanlon, whose father died when he was just a baby, came up with an idea based on never having known his dad, and always wondering who he was and what he was like.
