Original posts from the fire department said the driver was alert and talking when firefighters arrived and was safely extricated from the vehicle.

"The homeowner returned home from the gym to discover the incident". It also appears to have damaged a neighboring home.

Redding said the intersection in front of his house is unsafe and it's not the first time a vehicle has come barreling onto the property.

A speeding SUV driver hit an embankment, went airborne and became stuck on top of a person's house, authorities said.

Sunday afternoon, a Saint Louis homeowner was made aware that a auto went through their roof. "It was determined that it was viable". He was told the SUV sped down Mimika Avenue to where that street ends in a T-intersection in front of his home. "We put just enough on the roof to make the extrication and get off". He was taken away from the scene and brought to the hospital with lower body injuries. He said the home on Lillian has been in his family for 40 years, and something similar actually happened in the 1980s or 1990s, when his mother lived in the home.

"I had a vehicle smash, turn my railing off", Jones said. A Facebook post published at around 4:30 p.m. on the department's page said one occupant was rescued and transported in critical condition by EMS.

Although Redding was was able to maneuver himself around in the living room after the crash the house may not be habitable again.
