Break-In at Sen. Dean Heller's Las Vegas Office

Police said Monday patrol officers responded to the building where Heller's office is located after an alarm company reported a burglary alarm.

Heller is the only Senate Republican facing re-election in 2018 in a state won by Democrat Hillary Clinton during the November presidential election. However, a threatening note addressed to Senator Heller was discovered near the door to his office.

Heller is one of the Republican senators who has thus far refused to endorse Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's bill to "repeal and replace" Obamacare.

Officers took a report for the letter and are investigating the incident, they said.

"We can not comment on an ongoing investigation", a spokesperson told CNN, directing all questions to the police department.
