Clemson DE Is A Hornung Award Candidate

He was named a second-team All-American by several publications including USA Today.

Nebraska senior receiver De'Mornay Pierson-El has been named to the watch list for the 2017 Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse. At the conclusion of spring practice, Wilson received co-Most Improved Offensive Player honors along with wide receiver Aaron Young. He was the only player in the SEC and one of three players in the nation with a 40-yard punt return, 40-yard run and 40-yard reception during the 2015 season. Pierson-El has eight career returns of at least 25 yards.

Berry makes the list along with 22 other seniors, 19 juniors and 3 sophomores.

The award is given annually to the nation's top linebacker.

Highlighted by three 100-plus yard receiving performances, Cornelius recorded 32 receptions for 515 yards and four touchdown catches, while adding a rushing score, in 2016. This time it's the Butkus Award, which is given to the best linebacker in college football. Edwards. Ten Butkus Award recipients have matriculated from current Big Ten schools since the award debuted in 1985, with Ohio State's James Laurinaitis being the most recent Big Ten honoree in 2007. They represent 45 universities in 28 states coast-to-coast across the 10 conferences that are part of the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
