Lonzo Ball: Injury Updates, Stats & Highlights in Summer League Semifinal

"Big Baller Brand, you've got freedom to do whatever you want", Ball said on the ESPN broadcast after the game.

Apparently, the Big Baller is not bound to his brand.

Ball wore his shoe during his first two Summer League games and had pedestrian performances. In the first two games, he wore his own Big Baller Brand shoe. But while his dad has been participating in WWE fights and talking the talk, Lonzo himself has been playing in the NBA Summer League, doing his best to showcase his abilities and live up to the promise of being the #2 overall pick in this year's draft.

Hopefully next game we can catch Ball in some Under Armour Curry's, or maybe he can even show some love to Sketchers and don some of those for a night.

Lonzo and the Lakers play again in the semifinals of the Vegas Summer League on Sunday night, so he'll have another footwear decision to make before he takes on Dallas.

The Lakers will play their fifth game in six nights on Monday, so they could always play it safe with Ball.

Ball tried to jog it off in a back hallway in the third quarter, but he was hobbling a little bit and was shut down for the remainder of the game.

"There's definitely tons of excitement and renewed energy around this year's draft, around Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka and the leadership and the vision they've cast with the basketball team", said Joey Buss, Lakers co-owner, alternate governor and vice president of research and development. "But I hope he saw a good game". You don't want to give Lonzo the best player in the world and don't get no championship? He was 2 for 15 from the field in an opening loss, responded with a triple-double in another loss, then sat out the third game with a sore groin as critics said he was avoiding having to face No. 5 pick De'Aaron Fox in that game against Sacramento. He finished the night with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Therefore, what three players could potentially play shooting guard for the Lakers after Caldwell-Pope?

Skal Labissiere had 19 points and nine rebounds, Georgios Papagiannis added 17 points and 13 boards, and short-handed Sacramento advanced with its first victory.

Prior to the injury, Ball's perimeter shot had finally arrived, as he knocked down his first two 3-point attempts.

Memphis had plenty of balance with four players in double figures, but finishing 2-of-10 from three-point range as a team wasn't enough to keep up on the scoreboard down the stretch. He would have been matched up against Kings rookie point guard De'Aaron Fox. He leads all guards in rebounds and blocks.
