Manchester City will not entertain offers for Chelsea transfer target Sergio Aguero

The Argentine saw Citizens boss Pep Guardiola prefer Gabriel Jesus over him at points last season and there has been speculation over his future at Manchester City.

Chelsea have a "serious and strong interest" in Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, according to Sky Sports.

Sky sources say "it will be very hard for Chelsea to sign Aguero" but that their interest is real.

Chelsea are keen on the likes of Alvaro Morata, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Andrea Belotti and a surprise name now being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Aguero.

Aguero, however, might not be easy to replace as he has scored 169 goals in 253 games for the club.

The Sergio Aguero transfer rumour could well run for some time, as it feels like Chelsea are no closer to finding their Diego Costa replacement.

When asked if Aguero was staying earlier this summer, Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: 'Absolutely. There's never been a doubt about that.

"Having Sergio Aguero as part of the squad is an absolute must".

And one of those targets is understood to be Manchester City hitman Sergio Aguero. "It has never been in doubt".

At a crucial stage of City's development, going into the second season of Guardiola's management, City are extremely reluctant to provide a rival team, especially one in the Premier League, with a world class striker like Aguero.

Aguero still has three years left on the contract which he extended last season, meaning that his future is still in City's hands rather than his own.
