New Apple iPhone 8 Images hint at same location for Touch ID

This week was not a good one for Apple fans, as there were more bad news than good news for the highly anticipated iPhone 8. Foxconn is producing about 95% of orders for the OLED iPhone and small number of orders for the updated 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models.

Don't expect to see the 3.5mm headphone jack on the new iPhone nor the USB-C port thus being present on the current Macbook lineup. Additionally, iPhone 8 won't sport a horizontally aligned dual rear camera, but a vertical one. There were more bad news than good news for the smartphone, including software problems and possible delays for the premium iPhone 7 successor.

Without an end date in sight, the iPhone 8 takes on the mythical quality of a unicorn. The fund owned 1,701,121 shares of the iPhone maker's stock after buying an additional 215,000 shares during the period.

The OLED iPhone is expected to have a screen the covers almost the entire front of the phone. The newest phone is also expected to increase the average sale price of the iPhone, as the flagship model is rumored to be priced above $1,000. The design also features a blind spot for display screen where sensors and front camera has been placed. Apple doesn't have its own production facilities, but has reportedly begun leasing the equipment to manufacturers to ensure its supply of the RFPCB components. Authorised retailers whose margins are often squeezed by Apple also benefit from a new iPhone launch due to Apple owners often needing to buy additional cables which retailers benefit from.

Although the 3D lasers are definitely big features to look forward to, reports say that the inclusion of these lasers is not yet final and will hugely depend on the progress of Apple engineers in inserting the system into the phone.

If these specs sound disappointing, just remember that Apple is celebrating the iPhone's 10th anniversary this year, and it would be completely off-brand for them to do anything that isn't totally mind-blowing. Another report said Apple will get rid of the Touch ID as it has not perfected the display technology need to ensure accuracy with a fingerprint scanner under the display.
