Meizu Pro 7 gets teased ahead of official announcement

Putting the speculations at rest, Meizu has finally confirmed on Weibo that it would be releasing the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus on July 26. It is speculated to launch alongside the Meizu PRO 7 Plus.

But when you compare that photo with some of the leaked photos we've seen, it's pretty safe to say that the black shiny surface represents the phone's oddly-shaped, vertical secondary display. Jeffrey has also posted some images, which we don't know are taken by the Pro 7 or not.

The backside of the Meizu PRO 7 and PRO 7 Plus feature a secondary screen below the dual rear cameras. Also, the network appeared the Meizu packing Pro 7, which is made in minimalist style and is somewhat reminiscent of the box from Samsung S8. Apparently, the smartphone will cost about $480 outright, while a Plus version of the Pro 7 is supposed to sell for $555. Both will showcase the new 2-inch secondary screen. The reason for calling it a window is because the secondary screen will show notifications for missed calls, SMS, chat messages along with date and time.

The Meizu PRO 7 will be a standard variant that is expected to come with a 5.2-inch screen that supports full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

As far as pricing is concerned, Meizu Pro 7 is rumoured to be priced at 2,799 Yuan which is approximately Rs 26,610 while Meizu Pro 7 Plus is said to be priced at 3,299 Yuan which is approximately Rs 31,353 and 3,799 Yuan which is approximately Rs 36,117 for the higher variant. Moreover, both of them will be 12 MP Sony sensors. The front-facing camera of the PRO 7 will be of 16-memgapixel.
