Chelsea Confirm Signing Of Alvaro Morata From Real Madrid

Morata will be sure to get enough help in settling in London as he has 3 of his compatriots (Pedro, Azpilicueta and Fabregas) in Chelsea.

"It's true the last season he didn't play a lot but every single player in Real Madrid is important in terms of experience, so he's going to be a top player".

Morata was expected to leave Madrid's training camp in the United States immediately.

Having left him out of their 25-man preseason tour squad, the Blues seem set to sell Nemanja Matic, but they have gained £40m midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco. But he said last month that he was told by coach Antonio Conte he wasn't wanted for the coming season.

Conte had initially identified Romelu Lukaku as his number one target but saw Manchester United beat them to the signature of the Belgian worldwide after they themselves had also pursued Morata.

"I'm not interested in what Chelsea FC does, really", he said.

I would pay £20m or £30m more if I had to and I would bring in Morata.

Do you think Morata will be a good signing for Chelsea?

'For sure this transfer market is insane, ' said Conte.

Conte has claimed that Costa's situation "was very clear" in January, and the matter is now "closed" as the former Atletico Madrid striker prepares to move on. "Not only for this season, but now if you want to buy a simple player - a normal player - you have to start to think about spending 40 to 50 million euros".

Basically being told to "piss off" by Antonio Conte, Diego Costa is on his way out of Stamford Bridge, and the signature of Alvaro Morata is doing little to dispel that idea.

"It's incredible this situation".

Alvaro Morata has said an unofficial goodbye to Real Madrid ahead of his big-money transfer to Chelsea.

Might there be any regrets after Manchester United had to cough up £75 million for Lukaku, while the Blues have paid a lot less for Morata?
