Maruti Suzuki domestic sales up 22% at 1.53 lakh units in July

Maruti Suzuki India, the largest passenger cars maker in India, announced a sold 165,346 units in July 2017, which was 20.6% higher compared with 137,116 units in July 2016. The company, which will be launching the new-generation of the Verna sedan later this month, sold 43,007 units in July. In line with expectations, two-wheeler makers have reported robust growth for July, according to data released by the individual companies on Tuesday.

Yesterday, Maruti Suzuki India saw a high of Rs. 7920.00 which was 160.1 points more than the opening price after which it closed at a price of Rs. 7856.10.

Overall analysts expected such growth because of restocking ahead of festival season that will begin at the end of August with Ganesh Chaturthi followed by Dussehra and Diwali. In the domestic market, Maruti had sold 125,778 units.

The mini segment (Alto and WagonR) grew by 21 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to 42,310 units in the domestic market against 35,051 units in July 2016, MSIL said.

Two wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp posted a 17.1 percent rise in July sales.

Speaking about overall sales registered in July 2016, the number past year was 137,116.

Similarly, the utility vehicles (including Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza) segment grew by 48 per cent to 25,781 units as compared with 17,382 units in the corresponding month past year.

The stock price touched a fresh record high of Rs 7,920, up 2.75 percent intraday Tuesday. Ltd. (HMSI) posted 19 percent growth in domestic business at 5.11 lakh units last month in comparison to 4.29 lakh units in July previous year, according to a statement released by the company on Tuesday.

At 10:34 hours IST, the stock price was quoting at Rs 7,900.00, up Rs 192.05, or 2.49 percent on the BSE.
