A 17-year-old has been detained after he allegedly opened an emergency exit and jumped from a plane after it landed at San Francisco International Airport Tuesday, according to our affiliate ABC 7 in San Francisco. The passenger has been taken into custody by law enforcement.

Yakel says the teenager is a USA citizen and was traveling alone on the flight from Panama City, Panama, to San Francisco.

An airport spokesperson says the passenger, who was a USA citizen, was detained by a construction crew working on the airfield and had been taken into custody.

The teen was not injured during the incident and his actions did impacted arriving flights at the airport.

Yakel says the plane went to its assigned gate and all passengers got off the flight without incident.
