Bill Cosby's Legal Team Suffers Another Defection

It's been reported that the head of Cosby's legal defence team, Brian J. Mc, onagle, is attempting to remove himself from the trial and end his representation of Cosby.

The top Philadelphia criminal defense attorney who helped Bill Cosby secure a hung jury on trial for sexual assault has quit ahead of the disgraced entertainer's scheduled re-trial.

Steven O'Neill, the County Judge for Montgomery, is yet to approve Cosby's lawyer's motion to withdraw from his duties in the case, but once he does, the former TV father will have until the 21st of August to get a new attorney.

Bill Cosby leaves a Montgomery County courthouse in July 2016 after his request for dismissal of charges was denied. Constand met Cosby through Temple University, where she worked in the women's basketball program. Singer's departure from Cosby's team was reportedly not one of ill will, though, as Deadline noted at the time, neither party would name why he left the team. After more that 50 hours of deliberations, Judge O'Neill declared a mistrial, setting up Cosby's next trial over the matter in November. On the night Constand alleged she was sexually assaulted by Cosby, she testified that she was at his home seeking advice concerning her career.

Cosby's lawyer says Cosby wasn't even in California.
