Liverpool have sights set on title, says Klopp

With Neymar set to join Paris Saint-Germain in a world record-breaking £196m deal, Barcelona had apparently identified Liverpool's 25-year-old talisman as their ideal replacement.

Clearly it seems as though unless Liverpool receive an offer they can't refuse, Can will be playing at Anfield again this season.

Since rejecting a £72 million offer for Coutinho from the Catalan side last month, Liverpool have remained adamant that the Brazil worldwide will not be sold for any price.

That could be attracting Jurgen Klopp to him, who will be looking to stretch his squad across both the Premier League and the Champions League next season alongside the domestic cup competitions.

'You can see on the pitch that I'm happy. "I have played left wing, right wing and striker - it's no problem for me".

The arrival of the former Roma player has led to questions regarding where he, and indeed Mane, will line-up in the Liverpool team during the upcoming season.

Speaking after his side's friendly win over Bayern Munich, the German said: 'I can understand that Coutinho is so highly rated, but they (Barcelona) can save their energy.

On Gomez, Klopp added: "He will be missing from the next few games". I just hope he can play really soon.

Nevertheless, new reports are suggesting that Liverpool have told Juventus that under no circumstances will the midfielder be leaving this summer. I think we can play a little bit better.

"Honestly, even if the player wants to go, I think it's very, very possible for the club to keep him".

The fixture was the Reds' penultimate friendly of the summer ahead of their Premier League opener at Watford on August 12.
