Sanchez back in training

Yet, despite having outclassed Arsenal last month, the Blues goalkeeper is wary of the London club and one player in particular, admitting that he would be glad to avoid facing Alexis Sanchez.

However, there was little sign of the turmoil that has engulfed him in recent weeks as he posed for pictures with Arsenal photographers.

Sanchez missed Arsenal's pre-season tour of Australia and China, as well as last weekend's Emirates Cup tournament, as he rested following global duty at the Confederations Cup.

Standard Sport understands the forward will remain away from the first-team squad over the coming days as his fitness is assessed.

The future of Alexis Sanchez was always going to be the biggest signifier of a successful window at the Emirates and the story took another twist today.

Football INDEX Watch - Alexis Sanchez £4.68/Sergo Aguero £2.70- If the Chilean gets his move to City, surely still a great buy. While Arsenal would not confirm that explanation, it would appear more likely than any clandestine meeting with the PSG hierarchy.

Wenger added: "Your job is to be suspicious".

Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have all been credited with an interest in Sanchez, who returned to training this week following an extended summer break.

"'I'd prefer if he (Sanchez) doesn't play because he is a good player!" admitted the keeper in an interview with the Daily Mail.

However, Wenger has insisted throughout the summer that Arsenal will not sell last season's top scorer, even if it means losing him on a free next summer.
