Two terrorists killed in Kulgam

Two militants were gunned down by security personnel in the state's Kulgam district.

Police said the search and cordon in the area was launched on specific intelligence information suggesting presence of militants. All the injured troopers have been evacuated and airlifted to military's 92 base hospital in Srinagar for treatment.

In the initial encounter, an Army Major Kamlesh Pandey, along with two soldiers Sepoy Tanjin Chhutin and Kripal Singh, sustained bullet injuries.

The search operation at Zaipora is on, the official said.

The hiding terrorists opened fire after security forces approached the site, the police official added.

On Tuesday, LeT chief commander Abu Dujana of Pakistan along with his accomplice Arif were killed in an encounter with security forces at Hakripora village in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) - Two militants were killed Thursday in a fierce gunfight with contingents of police and Indian army in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said. Two AK-47 rifles were recovered from the slain militants.

It has also been reported that one of the terrorist had an involvement in an attack that took place on a bank cash van in the district.

Meanwhile, the authorities have again suspended the mobile Internet services in south Kashmir.
