Frozen pizzas scattered on highway after crash

Arkansas Online had plenty of footage from the crash on Interstate 30 in Little Rock, and thank goodness no one was injured.

An 18-wheeler crashed and spilled frozen pizzas on Interstate 30 in Little Rock on Wednesday, closing part of the freeway for nearly 4½ hours and causing traffic to back up about 10 miles.

An 18-wheeler struck an overpass, tearing apart the trailer and spilling its load of DiGiorno and Tombstone frozen pizzas across the freeway.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation says there was only cosmetic damage to the overpass, and it is still okay for travel.

The highway department tweeted that it would "take time" to clear the scene but all lanes were reported open by the agency by 5:30 p.m., more than four hours after the wreck.

"It made for some very slick conditions, believe it or not", Straessle told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Highway officials shut down westbound lanes of a cross-country interstate for four hours so crews could pick up pizza. "Lots of pizza fatalities".
