Will Smith has revealed as they shared a ride together during the first episode of Carpool Karaoke: The Series that he only pretended to recognise James Corden during their first meeting.

"We will approach it in whatever manner his family", he confirmed to the Associated Press, "however they would like it to be handled".

The host of the Late Late Show was joined on his way to work by none other than the Fresh Prince of Bel Air himself, Will Smith, for a special Apple Music episode of the popular series.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Bennington and his band teamed up with funnyman Ken Jeong for the July 14 filming of the upcoming Apple Music series.

"We will navigate it as delicately as possible and just adhere to whatever wishes they would want", he added. In the full version of the episode available exclusively to Apple Music they get rid of the vehicle and hop into a helicopter instead to perform the R Kelly classic "I Believe I Can Fly".

Deferring to Bennington's family is the right decision.

Talinda Bennington tweeted "Thank you" in response to reports about Corden's comments. The general feeling was one of deep sadness; losing someone to the very demons he helped others fight through his music felt especially awful.

Following the news of Bennington's death, his bandmates in Linkin Park set up a live feed of the hashtag #RIPChester on its website. At the top of the page, the band has listed resources for those struggling with suicidal thoughts. The next episode of "Carpool Karaoke: The Series" will be available to stream on Tuesday, Aug. 15.

Nothing says adventure and music like a guest appearance by Will Smith, and fans of the segment can watch the 48-year-old actor "get jiggy with it" along with host James Corden, as described by the Los Angeles Times.
