Bill Hader returns to be Anthony Scaramucci on summer 'Weekend Update'

Unsurprisingly, President Trump was spoofed by "Saturday Night Live's" summer "Weekend Update" premiere, but it turned out that Anthony Scaramucci - the short-term White House communications director - offered a more enticing target.

"My father's presidency has been a resounding success and i will be cleared of any wrongdoing by a grand jury", he said. "I'm like human cocaine".

In his first sit-down TV interviews since leaving the White House, Scaramucci will appear on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday, followed by an appearance on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert".

Kenan Thompson played National Basketball Association dad and world-class braggart LaVar Ball, whom Jost called a "black Trump, everyone!" This time around, Weekend Update Summer Edition is its own standalone season, starting roughly a month before the start of Season 43 of SNL, and with no election to buoy its longer-than-normal Update runtime of 30 minutes.

Leslie Jones also joined the broadcast to show off her "Michelle Obama arms."

The show saved its sharpest digs for President Donald Trump and his older sons.

Co-host Colin Jost wanted to know what Don Jr. thought about the developments in the investigation into the possible collusion with Russian Federation.

"You can't threaten someone when you're sitting down", Jost added. "Even FDR stood up when he was talking tough". "No one cares about my meeting with the Russians anymore".

"But last week you got some peanuts", Eric said. Don Jr. wanted to promote the surging economy and his dad's accomplishments.

Briefly occupied by a fidget spinner, and then a Lego hotel, Eric kept quiet while Donald Jr. spun his story.

Current headlines have given "Weekend Update" a lot to skewer this summer.

A rhythm they hope translates to prime-time laughter.
