Brentford and QPR to meet in Carabao Cup

Wales' three leading football teams have learned who they will face in the EFL Cup second round.

Ties will be played week commencing August 21.

Daniel Farke's side played Charlton recently in the penultimate match of their pre-season preparations, winning 2-0 at The Valley thanks to goals from Yanic Wildschut and Steven Naismith.

The Premier League teams involved in European competition enter the Carabao Cup at the third round stage.

"They are a very ambitious team".

Newport tweeted: "We've drawn Leeds United at home but the fixture will be reversed".

Leeds booked their place in the second round with Wednesday night's 4-1 victory against League Two visitors Port Vale at Elland Road in which Spanish debutante Samuel Saiz bagged a hat-trick.

Meanwhile, Fulham have been drawn at home to League One side Bristol Rovers.

Fellow debutante Caleb Ekuban was also on target for the Whites who made it two wins out of two under new head coach Thomas Christiansen following Sunday's 3-2 success at opening weekend Championship hosts Bolton Wanderers.

The Dons last met Swansea in the regional final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in 2008, with an MK side then managed by Paul Ince beating Swansea on penalties on their way to winning the tournament, with the two sides having registered 1-0 away wins in the 2 legged event.
