Eagles Inactives: Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Brooks Ruled Out for Preseason Opener

The last time the two teams met was during the regular season past year, a 27-13 Packers victory at Philadelphia that gave Green Bay a 26-14 lead in the regular-season series.

For proof, just look back to 2015, when the Eagles set the bar extremely high for their season by looking almost unstoppable against Thursday night's opponent, the Packers.

"King gave up a 38-yard completion to Treggs late in the second quarter, but outside of that, the 6'3" King was just as advertised, even with a couple of rookie miscues.

The Packers will embark on the long week ahead in preparation for their week two match-up against the Redskins in Washington. "When you're wearing a red (practice) jersey, you don't get hit".

It's no secret that the Green Bay Packers Achilles heel has been the defense for years.

Undrafted running back Corey Clement accounted for 40 yards on a drive that chewed up close to seven minutes in the third quarter, but he couldn't corral a short pass on third and goal from the 7, and the drive ended in a Caleb Sturgis field goal.

Despite leaving the field with a 24-9 victory over the Eagles-their seventh of the aforementioned 16 meetings-five players also left the field with injuries.

Quarterback report Wentz played one series plus one play, good enough for a flawless quarterback rating of 158.3. It was one of three first-half turnovers for the Eagles offense.

Special teams issues The Eagles own a reputation as boasting one of the NFL's best special teams units, but it was a shaky night on that front. Many rookies and veterans have been counting the days to the first game of the preseason. But, then again, no Packers running back really got a chance to make a big impression.

Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and right guard Brandon Brooks are both out for the game.

With the Packers getting creative on defense, their safeties could see the field more than ever this season. "I look forward to watching the video". The team later announced that Dupre had movement and feeling in all his extremities and was transported to a local hospital for observation. It was a huge win for the Packers, who broke a four-game losing streak and started what would eventually become a eight-game run to the NFC Championship.
