Xbox Achievement System Fundamental Concepts Might Be Changing

Corporate vice president of the Xbox and Windows gaming platforms Mike Ybarra didnt reveal too many details other than saying that they are working on something that “fundamentally changes the concept” of the Xbox Achievement system. Recently we partnered with our friends at Rare and already thousands of gamers are sailing the Sea of Thieves across both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. But now, Microsoft appears to be rethinking Xbox achievements, according to a recent podcast with Windows Central.

"W$3 e can do a lot more to reflect and let people show their gaming history and their status".

Microsoft invented the modern Achievements concept when the feature launched with the Xbox 360, and we've seen those little pop-up badges show up everywhere since.

The Creators Collection games will be in their own subsection of the Xbox marketplace so you won't have to sift through them if you don't want to.

"This person doesn't play a lot of games, but they're world top ten at Halo 5", he continued. In 2014, Ray Cox IV became the first player to hit 1 million Gamerscore and was given a lifetime Xbox Live Gold Membership for his efforts. These changes help the development team by providing more in-depth, critical testing data, which they use to then update and refine features based on fan feedback, ensuring optimal user experiences when system updates reach general availability.

Invite-only access ring reserved for Xbox Insiders that provide the most customer feedback, report problems with clear repro steps, and are especially active on Xbox One consoles. But now they could be changed from how we've gotten to know them. If you want to get started in the Omega ring, you simply need to download the Xbox Insider Hub from the Xbox Store. However, these games will not have access to Xbox Live services like Achievements, Gamerscore or even internet multiplayer (local multiplayer is supported).

The new changes could be introduced in time for the Xbox One X, which has a November 7 release date.
