Kyrie Irving prefers Clippers, Blake Griffin pairing

According to National Basketball Association reporter Peter Vecsey, who was a guest on the HoopsHype Podcast on Friday, Irving is most interested in joining the Los Angeles Clippers next season. Considering the way this offseason has played out, Cleveland is going to listen to all potential suitors to see what the best value for Kyrie is.

When ESPN's Brian Windhorst first reported that the 25-year-old Irving asked for a trade from the Cavs, a list of preferred franchises was mentioned that included the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks. He's seen Kyrie Irving - I think I reported this on SportsCenter this week - he saw Kyrie Irving in the playoffs this year - in between the first round when they beat in and the second round when they played Toronto - go consecutive days without speaking to a teammate at practice.

McMenamin added that players have their ups and downs in the regular season, but in the intensity and spotlight of the playoffs, Irving's actions may have been eye-opening to some, including Jones. "I'm not so sure if Phoenix would be interested in that type of deal".

According to McMenamin on the BBall Breakdown podcast, Irving went consecutive days without speaking to his teammates during practice in between the in and Toronto series.

The NBA offseason has reached its quiet point after the free agency frenzy, but there are new developments in the Kyrie Irving trade saga that are keeping the league in the headlines.

The Los Angeles Clippers don't have much in the way of assets to trade to Cavaliers for Irving but the team reportedly have already made at least one offer to the Cleveland to land Irving.
