Peepli Live Actor Sitaram Panchal Passes Away After Suffering From Cancer

The actor had celebrated his 26th wedding anniversary with his son Rishabh Panchal and wife Uma Panchal on Wednesday.

Last seen in Jolly LLB 2, the actor has three films that are yet to release - Saali Khushi, DNA Mein Gandhiji, and Das Capital Gulamon Ki Rajdhani.

Sitaram Panchal's health issues came to the limelight when the actor chose to ask for help on social media and shocked everyone. Even after being diagnosed with cancer in January 2014, he shot for Shyam Benegal's TV series, "Samvidhan".

Today, in the morning, he succumbed. Since acting was his only source of income, he worked between September-October a year ago when he was slightly better with medication, and shot for small roles in Tigmanshu Dhulia's Raag Desh and Subhash Kapoor's Jolly LLB 2.

Unfortunately, he breathed his last today and the news was confirmed by actor-comedian Navin Prabhakar.

Bollywood actor Sitaram Panchal, best known for his performance in Irrfan Khan's Paan Singh Tomar, died Thursday morning after a three-year-long battle against lung cancer. Rest in peace Situ Bhai. Also, he was not working for last 10 month for his critical health condition. In July, he took to Facebook to seek financial help. "It was only recently that he started a new homoeopathic medicine, following which, his condition worsened and we discontinued the medicines", Sitaram's wife was quoted by a daily after the Facebook post garnered attention. "We assure him of all the help we can provide to him in his hour of need and also urge all of you to open your hearts". The Cine and TV Artistes Association has shared a letter addressed to the film fraternity with Sitaram Panchal's account details seeking financial aid.

Sitaram Panchal 3 weeks ago tweeted that "Alongwith i am thankful to my family friends, relatives, colugues and soecialy my fans who support and praying for my good health".
