West Ham manager Bilic hands Manuel Lanzini a warning

It's a new season, but the same old injury bug headaches for Slaven Bilic, as the West Ham manager confirmed that Manuel Lanzini will part of his absentees to start the season against Manchester United on Sunday.

"It's not ideal that you play three league games and one cup game away from home".

No team has won more opening day fixtures in the Premier League than Manchester United (16, level with Chelsea).

West Ham head to Manchester United tomorrow bidding to also avoid a repeat of last year's woeful start.

Despite the East London club enduring a rather disappointing last season, Lanzini impressed and has managed to establish himself as arguably one of the most creative players in the Premier League. I don't know if I will celebrate if I score at Old Trafford.

Hernandez will return to Manchester for Sunday's Premier League opener, but in claret and blue, after joining West Ham from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

It was Pep Guardiola who chose to ditch Hart but Bilic said: 'We have total faith in him - otherwise we would not have signed him.

"Even if I am described as the best striker in the world, or the worse striker in the world, that is something that I need to prove on the pitch", he said.

One of our best players in pre-season has been talented Irish youngster Declan Rice and I believe him, Domingos Quina and Toni Martinez could also give some selection dilemmas this season too which they were too young to do past year.

'I don't know if I will celebrate if I score at Old Trafford, ' said Hernandez.

"I am very happy and glad, it's the best way to come back and open at Old Trafford".

"I'm going back to my old club, my old home, my old fans and for this type of game I will not go into thinking about celebration".

A year ago was more challenging for the club but the manager still managed to lead them to a respectable league finish despite a crippling injury list and teething problems associated with the move to London Stadium.
