AC Milan hoping to complete a deal for Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the lone player to reach double figures in the league with 17, while Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney were the next best with a mere six.

The 54-year-old is optimistic that his trend of success will continue this season, but dmies it has anything to do with fortune or fate.

"What I had in other clubs was more players scoring goals, what we had was midfielders, wingers scoring, central defenders scoring goals at set pieces", Mourinho said. "He's not ready to play tomorrow".

"It's not something urgent, that we are desperate to have it done or not done".

The Hammers finished 11th in the Premier League previous year, as they settled into their first campaign at the London Stadium, recovering well after a very shaky start at the new ground.

"Between the players we have lost and the players we have got, I think we are in a similar situation but with more experience of working together and a much better pre-season".

"He wants more football at the highest level so we are having conversations and discussing the possibility of him staying for the second part of the season".

"We have had a better pre-season than a year ago and we have the confidence levels of a team that has won a European competition and returned to the Champions League".

"We have the confidence levels of a team who won a European competition".

Romelu Lukaku is this summer's star signing to help fire United to the top of the table but manager Mourinho reckons everything has changed in the past 12 months.

"I think Tottenham, without any spending, are equipped to win because they have a fantastic team, fantastic manager, great stability".

Mourinho says he is after another player "coming from the sides" to complete his summer business - leaving the door open for either a winger or a full-back. "I'm not a hard person to work with, in spite of it looking different sometimes".

"I think he's one of those players where there are no question marks in front".

"I am happy with the effort the club did and that the club managed to do 75 percent of the work before the Premier League starts and until August 31".

"I understand the reality of the market, of the numbers and that my club by doing 75 percent of what I initially asked did very well". And I always had respect and the desire to do well in the English cups and I always liked to go to the finals. "He's not got a contract, but he's still close to Manchester, and the fact we are involved in the Super Cup now is also his merit".

"We are much better organised in the areas that support the first-team squad".
