Borussia Dortmund suspend forward, Dembele 'until further notice'

Dortmund rejected a €100m (£90m) offer from Barcelona for Dembele in midweek and he was fined and suspended for missing training until after Saturday's German Cup game for the defending champions against Rielasingen.

Ever since Neymar made his move from Barcelona to PSG, Ousmane Dembele has been seen as the most likely replacement for the Brazilian superstar.

Dortmund announced that no deal had been agreed and that they could not find the player.

Our referenced source is suggesting that the decision was taken after a meeting between the Borussia Dortmund manager Peter Bosz, the chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke and the sporting director Michael Zorc.

Dortmund are now concentrating on preparing the team for the Bundesliga opening match against Wolfsburg on August 19, according to Zorc.
