Ayushmann Khurrana Unveils his Version of Nazm Nazm

Bareilly Ki Barfi was watched and loved by celebrities on Wednesday.

Between the two, Bareilly Ki Barfi is the one which is more commercial and has a better pan-India appeal. Bareilly Ki Barfi is a romantic comedy film, directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and written by her husband, Nitesh Tiwari. So, when Vidrohi manages to accidentally charm Bitti's folks by administering a move that relieves her papa off his neck pain, the VO announces, "Vidrohi ne papa ki gardan seedhi aur love ki baazi ulti kar di".

Bareilly Ki Barfi is set in the small town of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh and revolves around the life of a free-spirited girl Bitti Mishra (Kriti Sanon). He lets her write letters to "Pritam" while he replies to them. Chirag is slowly making inroads into her heart but is alongside working on making Bitti and Pritam meet.

First of all, I am glad that Bollywood has finally realised that there are real people living out of the glitzy metropolitans, who do not live in huge mansions but simple brick houses. The small town girl with big dreams is not the ordinary Bareilly girl. The film is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari of Nil Battey Sannata fame and co-written (along with Shreyas Jain) by her husband and National Award (Chillar Party) winning director Nitesh Tiwari, who gave us Dangal previous year. Even though she tried to do the same with Bareilly Ki Barfi, the sad part is that, she succeeds only to a certain extent.

Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor also dropped his review of the movie on Twitter, writing: "Enjoyed Bareilly Ki Barfi sweet simple amusing and super performances". Dialogues have many laugh out loud crackling moments! Like for example, Chirag may be a forlorn lover, but he is also a bully to Pritam. For Rajkummar and Ayushmann, he added: "Ayushmannk is honest and Rajkummar, take a bow man". The decision to make Javed Akhtar do the narration works well for the movie.

Kriti doesn't do much in her life, expect for being interested in weighing her options (boys) and planning to settle down - something her mother also wants. The background score is apt. "@kritisanon is brilliant & it's her best performance". Overall, Ayushmann Khurrana is good in this film. But he is often side-stepped by that fantastic talent called Rajkummar Rao. He effectively portrays both meek as well the rowdy side of the character. That's why her marriage becomes the prime concern of her parents (Seema Pahwa and Pankaj Tripathi).

"Bareilly Ki Barfi" is the collaborative effort between Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, creative producer Juno Chopra and writer Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal fame and Shreyas Jain. The second half might be predictable but doesn't seem like a lengthy affair. The way the movie is tied up towards the end will definitely remind you of Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar's Mujhse Shàadi Karogi. Kriti Sanon's brief career has seen her in dispensable roles which contained her as an actor. The screening event saw the presence of Ayushmann Khurrana with his wife Tahira Kashyap, Kriti Sanon, Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Aayush Sharma, Swara Bhaskar, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Krishika Lulla, Sajid Nadiadwala, Fatima Sana Sheikh and others.
