Flagship Nokia 8 phone unveiled, coins the term

The body of Nokia 8 is built with aluminum and it comes in a variety of colors like Polished Copper, Polished Blue, etc.

Moreover, it is speculated that the Nokia 8 might not launch in China and the USA (at least as of now), as HMD Global has logistics issues there.

The Nokia 8 will be available in Europe from September, and will cost €599 (around £550) SIM-free. The device will pack a 3090mAh battery with quick charge support. Beyond a Snapdragon 835 processor, there is also a dual-camera lens setup on this stock Android device. The dual cameras on the back come with Phase Detection Auto Focus along with IR Range Finder.

The Nokia 8 debuted to great fanfare on Wednesday, and it wasn't just nostalgia for the Nokia bricks of yesteryear that made people pay attention. The new Nokia flagship has 13 megapixels camera for both the rear and front shutters.

The most visible feature of the Nokia 8 is of course its display, which in this case measure 5.3 inches with a resolution of 2560x1440 (QHD).

According to media invites sent by HMD Global, the Nokia 8 launch date is August 16.

The camera is the biggest selling point of the Nokia 8. To enhance the "multi-dimensional" video recording, Nokia 8 also supports Nokia OZO surround audio recording.

The smartphone carries a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory with and external MicroSD card slot supporting up to 256GB. It'll ship running Android Nougat 7.1.1.

While video calling on the Nokia 8, users have the option to switch on the video feed from both the front and the rear camera at the same time. Nokia 8 has a slightly curved design, which makes the phone easy to hold and use.

The Nokia 8 also features OZO spatial 360-degree audio, which HMD Global says "accentuate the right sounds while reducing ambient sounds or background noise". The Gloss Blue variant jumps to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has a vertically stacked set of dual rear cameras (13MP Colour sensor with OIS and 13MP Mono sensor), and there's a front 13MP camera all well. It also features USB 3.1 Type-C connectivity and a 3.5mm audio jack. Nokia 8 comes with Android 7.1.1 OS and with Nokia promising to upgrade it to Android O, things look bright.
