'Toilet - Ek Prem Katha' Set To Enter 100 Crore Club By Tomorrow

Akshay Kumar's latest release Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, maintains a "strong" stand at the box office, tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The film has been able to break box-office jinx by minting moolah at the ticket window. Tuesday's collection was also at an all time high for "Toilet" with a recorded collection of Rs 19.50 crore.

It looks like making a film that highlights the issues of open defecation in rural India has worked well for the team of Toilet-Ek Prem Katha. Despite being a manglik, Keshav finds the love of his life in Jaya (Bhumi) and they live happily ever-after. Toilet Ek Prem Katha remains one such film.

Apart from its unique subject, the film has another reason to boast about now, as it continues to gross huge figures at the box office. Both his films have made it to the list of highest openers so far this year.

While the film was termed as being propagandist as reviewers thought it focused too much on the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and PM Narendra Modi governance (including a dream sequence with a cow, and multiple references to demonetisation), it was declared tax-free in Uttar Pradesh.
