Ups and Downs from preseason week 2: Minnesota Vikings at Seahawks

Fant suffered the injury in the second quarter, when teammate Justin Britt fell to the ground and rolled on to him. The injury occurred while he dropped into pass protection. Trainers tended to him for several minutes before carting Fant off the field. He was taken off the field after having an aircast placed on his right leg.

Rees Odhiambo took over at left tackle afterwards.

Head coach Pete Carroll on Thursday had essentially named Fant and Joeckel as the starting left side of the line for the regular season. Laquon Treadwell, Latavius Murray, Trae Waynes, Andrew Sendejo, Kentrell Brothers, Riley Reiff and Alex Boone are all expected to be held out of the team's second preseason game.

But on this night, Wilson appeared capable of playing behind just about any offensive line - though it should be noted that the Vikings played their defensive starters for just two series.

Kicker Blair Walsh is most famous for one thing - shanking a 27-yard field goal attempt that cost the Minnesota Vikings a playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks. He got the call Friday, and responded with four tackles in the first half. Rookie Pat Elflein got his first preseason start at center after Easton had manned the position in last week's opener at Buffalo.

The Seahawks have won their first two preseason games.

But for the second straight week the Seahawks proved largely dominant with their backup defense - the Vikings had just 90 yards combined in the second and third quarters - also giving some credence to Carroll's claim that this is a better roster from top to bottom than last season. However, if you don't have the NFL Network or are out of market, you can stream the game or watch a replay if you are a subscriber to NFL Game Pass for all of the preseason games through August.
