Israeli forces shoot, kill Palestinian after stabbing attack

An official said the 17-year-old, whose identity was not disclosed, approached a group of border guards and pulled a knife from his bag to attack one of them, and another guard opened fire on him. The terrorist, a 17-year-old Palestinian, was neutralized by the soldiers on patrol.

The suppression of the weekly Palestinians' protest against the West Bank barrier by the Israeli forces left dozens suffering from tear gas inhalation, local media reported Friday.

The Israeli army claimed that the arrested Palestinians "participated in hurling stones, fireworks and Molotov cocktails", at officers and soldiers, over the past two weeks.

The young wannabe-killer traveled to the intersection leading to the Jewish community of Tapuach, and stabbed an Israeli Border Guard Police officer stationed at the junction. In that time, Israeli forces killed over 255 Palestinians, most said by Israel to be attackers.

More than 294 Palestinians or Palestinian citizens of Israel have been killd since unrest broke out in October 2015.

Having attempted to bury his knife in the flesh of a police officer, young Qutaiba Zahran made it clear he was a deadly threat.

Palestinians want to establish an independent state in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, territories Israel captured in the 1967 Middle East war.
