Anthony Rizzo went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Victor Caratini went 3 for 3, and Jason Heyward and Albert Almora Jr. each had an RBI single for Chicago. A Ben Zobrist single followed, moving Schwarber to third.

Toronto scored three runs in the eighth off Pedro Strop to trim the Cubs' lead to one, but Baez's two-run homer in the bottom of the inning provided insurance.

Toronto Blue Jays right-handed starting pitcher Marco Estrada was claimed on revocable waivers by the New York Yankees, a source close to the situation has informed FanRag Sports. Javier Baez then struck out swinging-but again the pitch got away, and a Lopez brain cramp allowed Baez to reach.

The Cubs took the first two games of the series on Friday and Saturday, going for the sweep on Sunday.

Kevin Pillar been making fantastic catches in centre field for the Toronto Blue Jays for a while now.

The first two batters got on and then Chicago pulled to within a run. The Blue Jays' bullpen had combined to throw three innings of scoreless relief before Osuna entered in the 10th.

But, on Sunday, Montero came to bat in the top of the sixth and launched a Kyle Hendricks pitch over the left centerfield fence to tie the game at three. The Blue Jays have dropped 12 of their last 17 road games.

Montero finished the series against his former team 4 for 10 at the plate. Regular third baseman Josh Donaldson made his first career start at shortstop, and veteran outfielder Bautista began the game at third. Bautista, now Toronto's right fielder, began his career as a third baseman and has made five appearances there this year.

Avila hit a rocket single into right field, allowing Zobrist to score. The 27-year-old is 0-1 in five starts since returning from the disabled list despite posting a 2.00 ERA over that stretch, as the Cubs have scored two or fewer runs in each of those five contests.
