Briean Boddy-Calhoun's hit knocks Odell Beckham Jr. out of preseason game

The Giants announced on Twitter later in the game that he had sprained his ankle.

Beckham is projected to be the third-best WR in standard leagues, by our models, with 99.8 catches, 1,359.4 yards, and 10.9 touchdowns for 199.9 fantasy points.

Beckham caught a pass from Eli Manning and immediately was undercut by a diving Boddy-Calhoun. He wasn't attended to by any medical staffers for the first minute he was in the tunnel, but then he finally received some attention. After a brief conversation in the team's bench area, Beckham put a towel over his head and began to walk to the locker room with a slight limp. The Giants said he would not return to the preseason game but would undergo X-rays. He then jogged off the field on his own, but he couldn't make it all the way to the Giants' locker room. We've seen some big injuries in meaningless preseason games, like Green Bay Packers receiver Jordy Nelson suffering a season-ending knee injury two years ago. Browns safety Briean Boddy-Calhoun made the tackle by diving low at Beckham's left knee.

Giants fans surely hope the injury is not as serious as it initially appeared.
