Samsung's Bixby voice assistant now rolling out to 200 countries worldwide

With this, Samsung owned Bixby Assistant would offer tough competition to other voice assistants like Apple's SIRI, Google's Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Because the service is still only going to be accessible in U.S. English, along with its original Korean, so while it will certainly be available in more places, it's still only for English speakers. Users can interact with Bixby by pressing a power button on the left side of the devices or simply say "Hi Bixby".

Samsung's Bixby voice assistant is now global after it expanded into over 200 countries today.

Samsung sees that problem, too, and says it will start notifying Galaxy S8 owners of the upgrade through channels outside of the Bixby app itself. The addition of all these will help in the enhancement of AI learning process on the service that will make it more intelligent and good at personalised assistance. For example, if you take a photo and then tell Bixby to “send the picture just taken to Mom, ” Bixby understand cross-application commands and will know which photo you are referring to and will text it to your mom.

To do so, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus owners can press the dedicated Bixby button and the smart little fella will install itself on their phones.

With the release of the Note 8, Samsung can also finally put the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco behind it. Amongst them is third-party compatibility, more languages, availability for other Galaxy devices and so on. Also, thanks to Samsung Bixby, it will be extremely easy to go from one activity to another without the need for the user to actually exit an app and enter another.

"The expansion of Bixby's voice capabilities is an initial step in the continued rollout of Bixby functionality".

"Not all accents, dialects and expressions" are recognized either, as Samsung is quick to point out in a clear attempt at preemptively excusing any misunderstandings or glitches you may run into.

Bixby is created to understand cross-application commands.

The leak in question is a brochure for the Note 8 that was meant for the Australian market, and it lists the main features of the device, including the dual camera and wireless charging capability.

Samsung believes Bixby is not just another AI assistant.
