Wayne Rooney Trolls Manchester City Fans On Twitter

After a promising pre-season, Rooney delighted the Everton faithful with a goal on the opening day of the Premier League season last weekend.

They pressed for a victor to no avail but there was still time for further drama as Everton's Morgan Schneiderlin was also dismissed for a second bookable offence. Historically they have always made it tough for us and will fancy their chances.

Manchester City vs Everton: Manchester City is ready to take on Everton in the English Premier League today.

Wayne Rooney has remained coy over his England future but confirmed he will hold talks with boss Gareth Southgate this week ahead of the squad announcement on Thursday. I have done that throughout my career and the thing for me is to play. "We will have a conversation and see what happens".

He reached another milestone when he slotted the ball past City keeper Ederson on Monday night to bring up his 200th Premier League goal in the 35th minute of the game.

"It is not bad for someone who is not fit anymore and can't get about the pitch", Rooney said, taunting his critics.

Koeman said "They did not create a lot of open chances".

It's a game that could already be a must-win for City coach Pep Guardiola.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman said despite the disappointment of conceding a late equaliser he was pleased with a point from a hard trip. It's not my point to give and go further into it but I didn't really see it as a second booking, so I think it's really unfair to us. "We want to start good at home".

This did not put City down as they dominated possession and had more chances to score.

"He's been a wonderful player in our game: everyone gets a bit under-appreciated because we are a judgemental society but it's also very tribal, football".
