Deadline day: How many loans are allowed?

- Premier League clubs can not loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window.

Deadline Day is nearly here, with the 2017 summer transfer window closing on Thursday night (August 31) at 11:00pm!

"The Premier League is very hard to win".

The highest-spending clubs were Manchester City at £215m, followed by £180m at Chelsea.

Rivals Manchester United spent big to snatch Everton hitman Romelu Lukaku for an initial £75m, whilst Tottenham Hotspur have left their transfer business late, despite sealing a club-record deal for highly-rated Colombia defender Davinson Sanchez from Ajax earlier this month.

Loans between Premier Leage clubs and other English counterparts are officially called temporary transfers.

The clubs' coffers have been bolstered by a £5.14bn three-year TV rights deal, which began in the 2016/17 season and which sees most of the broadcast games screened by Sky, the owner of Sky News, and some by BT. There he won the Bundesliga title in his third year.

Despite Paris Saint-Germain spending a world-record €222 million (S$358.4 million) to sign Neymar from Barcelona, the Premier League remained the biggest overall transfer window purchaser among the big five European leagues, shelling out nearly twice as much as the €800 million spent by Italy's Serie A on new players.
