Okami HD coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One

Finally, a month after we initially reported on Okami getting a December PS4 and Xbox One port, the game has been officially revealed for a United Kingdom release. The publisher announced Okami HD today, pegging the game for a December 12 release.

Information from this week's Weekly Famitsu magazine indicates that Capcom has indeed confirmed that they are going to make a new Okami HD re-release.

There will also be a return of the loading screen mini-games from the original Okami for the PS2. According to the press release, this latest release with its renowned Sumi-e ink art style will now be even more breath-taking as the graphics have been updated to take advantage of modern high resolutions. Okami was the penultimate release for Clover Studio before it was dissolved by Capcom in 2007.

Okami is a unique adventure game that allows players to control the Shinto deity Amaterasu, who has taken the form of a white wolf.

As you may already know, we remember that the original version of the title was launched in 2006 for PlayStation 2 and then landed on Wii in 2008 and 2013 on PlayStation 3 in the HD edition. Okami director Hideki Kamiya and producer Atushi Inaba later went on to work at PlatinumGames.

The game will be released digitally and physically (on PS4 and Xbox One) for $19.99.
