Small Plane Crashes in Plainville Parking Lot Near Airport

One person was injured after a small plane crashed in a CT parking lot Monday morning, and it was all caught on video!

Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration said a fixed wing single engine Cessna "veered off of Runway 2 at the Robertson Field Airport" around 11:30 a.m.

Authorities said Forst was 79 and suffered only minor injuries. He was sent to a local hospital for treatment. The man told reporters he was flying out for breakfast when the crash happened.

"I was very fortunate I got out of it without any real injuries", Forst told WVIT. The pilot then made a right turn, clipping a tree before crashing into the rear parking lot of Carling Technologies, which is adjacent to the airport. "I'm just so thankful". The FAA is still investigating the cause of the crash, but the agency did say they are looking into a fuel leak issue. "It was wavering, it was going very slow", Thayer said.

Emergency crews responded to a plane crash in Plainville Monday morning. "I looked up because I heard the plane".
