Allen Robinson out for season with torn ACL

A person familiar with the situation said that Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Allen Robinson is out for the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the season opener. Aaron Rodgers' regular-season streak of passes without an interception ended at a career-high 251 when Nazair Jones intercepted him at 9:26 of the first quarter of Green Bay's 17-9 win over Seattle.

Robinson will have surgery in the coming weeks to fix the damage, coach Doug Marrone said Monday afternoon.

Losing Robinson is a serious blow for the Jaguars, who are looking to finally put an end to their postseason drought, and Bortles, who is trying to save his job in Jacksonville and prove he deserves a long-term contract extension. He posted 73 catches for 883 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2016. Robinson's absence could thrust Allen Hurns back into an every-down role, with undrafted rookie Keelan Cole the favorite to step up as the No. 3 receiver. Lee has 115 receptions for 1,464 yards and five touchdowns in three National Football League seasons and has started 16 games in three seasons. He caught 64 passes for 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2015. Robinson was limping badly after the play and struggled to make it to the sideline before collapsing to the ground.
